To have a person shed tears at the sight of their commissioned pet portrait is the best compliment I can receive and it happens more times than you think. People say, "How did you capture their spirit" or "I can see their soul through their eyes". That means I have done a good job and made a connection with the pet. I also like to know the pet's name. I can't explain it but the end result is noticeably better when I do!
5x7 $45
This is a great size. It contains less detail but still captures the essence of the pet.
9x12 $85
When framed and matted, this size makes a statement. It contains much more detail, texture and eye color.
Thank you for your interest in having your pet's portrait commissioned. It is my goal to leave you with something to be cherished for a lifetime. All of my work is hand-painted on 140 lb. paper (unless specified otherwise) using professional grade watercolors.
The process is simple. Just text (205.305.2610) or email timblantonart@gmail.com a couple of your favorite photos. For the best results, take photos outside in natural light and be on the same level as the pet. Tip: Don't take the photo standing over the pet and looking down. And be sure that their eyes are visible for the best results.
Payment (USD) is not expected until you are 100% satisfied. I will send a draft image for your approval near the end of the process. I encourage you to give any feedback. Once the commission is complete, I will mail to you via U S Postal Service. Domestic shipping fees are included in my price for unframed pieces. International shipping fees can be calculated in advance. The completion time varies based on the breed of animal, size of the painting and the length of the waiting list. I will try to give you an estimate after I receive your photos.

The worst part of owning a pet is having to say goodbye. It's often hard to know what to do to console someone that has lost a family pet, yet the grief is as real and overwhelming as losing any family member can be. Pet portraits make great gifts for others and are especially treasured when given in memory of a pet that has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I consider it an honor to be asked to paint such an important part of your life and will do my best to capture the soul of your beloved pet.
Thank you for trusting me with such an important task.
Gift Certificates are available.
